It did come off one time, but I think that was my fault for not tightening it up. I am a USMC Combat Instructor so I keep ALL my gear on me every where I go and this manages to hold the weight of a 24 pack of Energy Drinks, 24 pack of protein shakes, my Main Pack that has 65lbs, full PPE kit, boots (2 pairs), my assault pack, Amo Can and any other extra gear I carry around. I drive all over dirt roads and bumpy roads which would scatter and push my gear towards the front of bed. This bar keeps it all towards the rear, within a arms reach so I can easily access it. Then, when I need to empty my bed to load my bed at full capacity, the bar comes out in seconds. I do recommend this bar. With that being said, I didn’t measure out my truck, this bar only fits in between the rear wheel wells (I.e. The two big humps on the back of a trucks bed. I drive a 2020 Silverado 6 1/2 bed.) If you want it to fit wall to wall, this bar does fall short. So get a longer bar, but having the bar in between wheel wells is sufficient space and distance for my needs. Good for the money, give it a try. If it doesn’t work, return is simple and easy, I had to return the second one I bought because I wanted another to go from wall to wall. Recommend this bar for sure.

Works well although I would not use it to hold a heavy load but if you’re carrying totes or groceries or like items it’s great to hold the items in place I’ve even used it for small gas stoves with some other strapping.
Used on a 2011 Toyota Tundra ext. Cab 6.5’ bed.

Works really well in my truck bed. I use it to secure boxes so they won’t fall over and slide around.
Fairly easy to use. Sometimes it a little difficult to release it. Easy to adjust and make it fit different size truck beds. Would buy it again

Have given this thought as reviews help us decide. It does serve its purpose. It is strong. At our age it is hard to climb in truck bed. This bar holds our boxes were we can get to them. The negative is it is difficult to reduce the rod for repositioning. Even after reading the Q/A. I looked for a u tube that may help make it easier. For the money it is worth the price. Hope you get a u tube link

Exactly what I was looking for to keep my cooler from sliding around. Was very easy to use the ratchet system to extend it. And quick release. Caution the bar will be under pressure when it releases. Be aware. I was able to use a tye down strap and bar and never worry about sliding around.

Very hard to use. The adjustments are fixed, and it need to be made too tight to actually work, pushing the metal of the bed out.

I had to get this to keep some empty gas cans from exploring my entire bed and once full from sliding all over the place and possibly spilling gas if tipped over. No longer do these dreams keep me awake. Its a perfect fit and now permanently resides in the bed about 18 inches from the tailgate to keep small stuff in place. Its stupid easy and less hassle instead of using ratchet straps. I am gonna get another one for my other truck for the same reason.

I have used one these for years. My last one lasted 10 years in the bed of my work truck. It holds all my pool buckets in place so they don’t slide around while I’m working. Great for any truck bed.

The anchors in my new truck are not adjustable, so this bar is indispensible. It easily helps anchor cargo and keep it from sliding around. Easy to install and remove. The ratchet feature is very handy and you can really crank it down for the perfect fit.

Bought this to use on my work truck. I have a CM utility bed. When i ratcheted it to where it felt tight it kept coning off. When i ratcheted it tighter it broke a tooth off the ratchet gear.

A rating depends on your expectations. This is not strong enough to hold something that is heavy and has a chance to slide and impact the bar. You have to push to load firmly against the front of the bed and put the bar right against it but it is still not strong enough or should be expected to hold a sudden shift. Based on my expectations I rate it a 5 because it does what I use it for. Wish it was a little heavier duty in the structure and ratchet but for th price it works well.

Works just as it should. Strong grip once it gets in there

Seems like a good product. However, it only comes with a “tag” that states the features and instructs you to “Read and understand all directions and follow all warnings” There are no directions. It is a simple, intuitive piece of equipment. But I’m sure there are those who may have trouble latching/unlatching the ratchet especially under some load, without some sort of instructions. Just thought it funny it tells to you to read instructions and warnings that aren’t provided.

Easy to use and perfect for keeping smaller things within reach near the tailgate and not in the back of the bed. And simple to adjust or remove when needed.

The product is exactly what i needed. It’s easy to install and works as expected. However it didn’t come with instructions on how to disengage it.

I screwed up and didn’t measure my bed width. It’s about an inch short on a 2020 GMC AT4. It was about 2” short but the flexible ends had recessed for holes so I just screwed some wood blocks on the end. PERFECT!!
