– they had an individual bit adapter I was able to purchase in store and there’s a place to store it under the screw driver bits

Good price for Craftsman tools. I bought this set for my 16 year old son to get his own tool collection started. Did not realize all the 1/2″ drive sockets are 12pt. Not a big deal, just have to start swapping out some 12pt for 6pt over time.

Not made in the US anymore. The blow mold bifold case does not hold the tools in place, therefore when you try to close the case tools fall out of place. The case is garbage.

As someone who is terrible at organizing tools this is incredible. Everything has its own exact spot and it’s easy to find things within it too. It’s also high quality and heavy duty. The one downside is that none of the sockets stay in their spots like all the other tools, so you have to be really careful about which side you’re opening/closing:

This is a fantastic tool set from a trusted, tried, and respected tool maker. The perfect tool set for a new home owner, the DIYer, or really anyone that wants tough tools that can get the job done. Lots of pros to this set but here are a few:
1. Full LIFETIME warranty – can’t beat that!!
2. Includes a few things that a lot of set don’t include – 3 – 72 tooth ratchets that are 25% THINNER, 2 universal joints (3/8 and 1/2 inch drive), and two spark plug sockets (5/8 and 13/16 inch)
3. Here is a little pro but it shows the attention Craftsman puts in the details – some of the hex bits have holes in the center. I’m sure they have an official name and I’m not sure what it’s called however it works on the anti-tamper hex screws. Someone will have to educate me on the name but I’ve encountered them before and it’s a pain if you don’t have the right bit.
Ok, so the one con I could find. The case clips. It had an extremely tough plastic case. Lifetime plastic case but I feel like the clips that hold the half’s together won’t clip correctly for long. Hey, I could be wrong. This isn’t Craftsman’s first rodeo. The good news is that there are four clips. The clips “pop” down onto the plastic lip. Maybe that lip will withstand the test of time. We will find out. Definitely not a deal breaker by any means but I feel like there are much better options out there. This is my honest and genuine review.
I would confidently recommend this to my family, friends, and really anyone. Even the guy with the full shop could find this set useful in some way.
So, I’ve had this set for about 2 weeks and the thinner ratchet combined with the universal joint just saved me tons of time getting a bolt out of a really tough spot on the atv. Thank you Craftsman!!!

I returned a total of 5 of these sets. All 5 either had sockets falling out of the slots that are meant to hold them in, or the case was damaged. This was not at just one store. I tried two at one location, and 3 at another, all fell short. It’s either a poor design, or just poor luck, I’m unsure of which one.

I love Craftsman sockets. The sockets just fit right. I used to buy “off brand” sockets. More than 20 years ago I was trying to take out a bolt. None of my sockets would fit, not standard and non of the metric. A coworker handed me a 1/2 Craftsman socket. It fit perfectly. I threw away all of my “off brand ” junk and have been buying only Craftsman since. I gave this set only 4 stars because of the case. I don’t hate it but I don’t really like it either. Some of the wrenches do not stay in place. I wish that the sockets all snapped or locked in place. It sucks that they fall out of their slots when opening or closing the case.

I used it for mechanical and home repairs. The home repairs where made a breeze by the three ratchet that it came with. Rather than having to look for adapters like i usually do the multitools made it easy to find the size and the right tool for the job. I love the box that it came in easy to put away

Tools are very good great assortment. Only one minor complaint if the case is opened upside down the tools come loose causing a great pile which then has to be sorted. Also when carried by the handle some of the tools come loose in the case.

I was hesitant to buy this set when I saw it due to the price, but it was well worth the cost with how much time and effort it’s saved me. It’s got practically every tool I would need to accomplish most repair jobs around the house/in the garage, the case helps keep everything together (even the slippery 10mm socket), and even my kids ask to use it if they need to fix something. I couldn’t have asked for a better tool set, made by the best name in the business!

This kit has almost everything you need for basic work on a car. I wish I’d bought this years ago, instead of patching different socket sets together. It’s so well organized and as a do-it-yourselfer, I struggle to think of any other pieces I may need to work on my car. This set is for my boyfriend to perform car maintenance. He was eager to try it and it has come in handy. Having multiple sizes make it well worth the investment.
The carrying case is such a plus. The only negative is that the tools don’t always stay in place within the case, so be careful.

I received the 189pc Mech Tool Set, and decided to teach my nephew how to maintain, and repair his bikes since he has many.
Its easy to carry, and to be honest it looks really nice.
You can tell the case can take alot of hits and still be good.
The tools inside are somewhat easy to remove, and put back but that is sometimes to be expected from a new set, and might get easier as time goes on.
The 4 stars is because the sockets on the bottom of the case dont clip in like the tops do.
Everything in the set worked great and looked good.
We repaired one of his bikes, and even put together a shelf for his mom using the Allan wrenches.
This is a great set for the garage a little bit big for a car but whould work well in it for sure.

After only a few months use, more and more sockets and tools fall out of the plastic case when I try to close it. You literally cannot close the case without all the tools being snapped in. Defeats the purpose of having a cased set. Support was someone foreign with roosters literally crowing in the background. They informed me that Stanley does not warranty the plastic case at all. I can’t even BUY one. All these tools will go in a bucket and I’ll go buy something better. Don’t buy this set.

Starting off with the hard case that fits everything perfectly. The finish of the tools are very nice and is sturdy. Ratchets are very smooth. This toolset is awesome! We have used it numerous times since receiving it. It comes in a huge carrying/holding case that keeps ever piece right in place. It has a huge variety of sizes. Good to leave in the garage or take in the car with you. Very well made and super sturdy.
