I was pleasantly surprised to see that Craftsman tools are of the same quality we have grown used to. Although the gunmetal finish is new to me I love it. I’m restoring a 1965 classic car and am using this set regularly. When finished this socket set will ride with me just in case something happens.

The sockets are great the ratchet is the same craftsman garage. It’s sloppy and loose with poor engagement. If you need these as a vehicle kit or something this is great. If you are buying these as a staple in your tool box give tekton a try. They are better quality, lifetime warranty, and the price is very reasonable.

I used the set to tak off the front will of a 42 inch ride-on mower and then to assemble it back, using the largest SAE nut. The tool perforemed as expected – no woubling, solid grip on the bolt, easy switch from loose to tight.
What really impressed me with this toolset though is the packaging – I have at least 3 other similar sets and packaging is not something other manufacturers are focused on – usually loose nuts inside that easily spill over, or subpar material for the case (usually blow-out plastic. Unlike the other ones, this set has a sturdy plastic case, nuts sit tightly inside, but not too tight to pull out, yet, they can’t spill inside the case when it’s closed even if you tossi it arround. The lead is held not by 2 but 4 clips (1 on both short sides and 2 on the long side accriss the hinges, each about 2 inch wide), whcih makes it very solid. It also has 2 handles – one on the short side, and one on the long – so you can easely carry it on or hang it on. Great presentation.

Bought this set at the beginning of the summer as i needed a 3/8 set for work. I am a professional mechanic and while this isn’t the highest quality that is available, it has done everything that i have asked of it. The ratchet has smooth operation and a good “hand.” the head of the ratchet seems a little thicker than some higher quality tools which could hinder it when working in tight places. Sockets are good with easily visible size markings on them and the smooth surfaces allow for easy clean up after use.
The only things i would add onto this set would be a universal joint and a shorter extension..

I purchased this item as a gift, so i don’t have much to say about its current performance. I have been a Craftsman user for over 50 years and have never been disappointed.

Having used Craftsman tools for many years, I am glad to see this 22 piece socket set holds up to the fine tradition and quality of the Craftsman hand tools that I and many others have enjoyed over time.
The fit and finish, is of the highest standards, of what a tool should be. Since there is the loved, life time warranty on this tool set, you can bet they are well made. Placing the ratchet in your hand and you know right off the bat this is a tool that is very much unlike what you get from the famous discount tool store we all love to hate.
Even the box the sockets are in is made to last.
Over time, lots of time, many of my old Craftsman hand tools are still with me. The only thing I do regret is to loan then out, not get them back, then forget who I lent them to. But even though the tools have been used and used hard, after all the years, they still work. I have no doubt the same will hold true with these sockets. Craftsman hand tools are just hard to beat, period.

Picked up this set for some home projects. The finish is very nice, but not convinced on the fit in hand. Smooth ratcheting action with a quick release. Surprised Craftsman has operations in the US but none of the hand tools are American product.

Nice tool set but the case style is not compatible with VERSASTACK system. These cases only work with each other not the tool or material storage components. Versastack should not be in the name.

I think this set has the most needed sizes of sockets. The case keeps everything organized and easy to find. I have other socket sets but this one is going to hang on the wall in my barn to save me a trip to the house.

The Craftmans 22 piece 3/8″ drive set is a treat. Its has a locking rachet which if very nice. It makes it easy to put on and pull off sockets from it. Once on, the sockets are secure. I’m glad it has a universal joint which I find to be quite useful. Even the case is sturdy and compact. I love Craftsman tools and the full lifetime warranty is nice as well. Great product!

Beautiful fit and finish. The gunmetal is just dark enough that it doesn’t glare as much as chrome in the sun or direct flashlight. They have the “fine” ratchet which is nice in those tight spaces. The ratchet handle is comfortable. Another fine Craftsman product that will last a lifetime and is good looking enough to make your friends jealous!
