Purchased good masking tape 3M brand and this product. I masked off my paint areas and I filled a bucket with hot water and dawn dish soap and cleaned the lens with a microfiber towel. Instructions were easy to understand. overall turned out great. I like the convince of hooking it up on my drill and adjusting the speed as I pleased. Cheers!!!

It was Great for reducing haze on the headlight assembly, and took a couple times of repeated use to appreciate the patience needed to let the sand paper do it’s job. Major improvement for the second headlight from the first… and im sure the next will be even better. Good product to buy for the purpose of learning the mechanics of how this improvement works, but next time I’ll more likely just buy the varied sand papers and polish compound ala carté

I did not have success with this product. In fairness, the lenses were old and in rougher condition than the kit was potentially designed for. However, there as no improvement to the lenses.

This kit works very well. Everything comes in the kit for a “set” of headlights. There is plenty enough compound left after doing one set of headlights. Believe there is enough to restore 2 to 3 more sets of headlights, but there are not enough sanding discs included with the kit. The kit comes with (2) 800 grit sanding discs, (2) 1500 grit sanding disc, (1) 2000 grit sanding disc and the polishing pad.
Highly recommended kit to purchase for headlight restoration.

Removed some scratches, but made whole headlight slightly fooged even after multiple polishing steps. Also, 2000 grit paper had additional padded backing that did NOT attach to the drill disc. I had to just press on the drill and repeatedly re-center the 2000 grit sanding disc.

Don’t waste your time on liquid-only restoration kits. I’ve used many and have always been disappointed. I took a gamble on this one with an impulse buy because it works with power tools. More than pleasantly surprised! Just make sure you tape up around the headlight like it suggests, I scuffed up the other vehicle I used it on because I thought it wasn’t necessary.

I had bought this product a while back and finally found the time to do the repair. I followed the instructions and found the result to be excellent. The package claims that it is sufficient to do multiple headlights, and I agree with that. I probably used too much of the polishing compound in the little bottle (which is hardly full – NOT as full as the bottle is big, so I should just have followed the instructions, maybe, and just used 5/8 inch!), but I could still easily do one more, or maybe even two, headlights. I had only one to do, because I had had to have one headlight replaced about a year back. The new one and the 16-year-old one always looked stupid together. The old one was translucent and yellow, but not transparent. You could not even see the bulb inside, for example. I did not take a “before” pic, but have included an “after” pic in this review (the spots are from the water drops which dried after I washed it), and you can see that the the old 16yo headlight is absolutely clear. The documentation says to use a drill with 1200-1600 rpm. I chose to use my corded Dewalt DW511 drill with 2700 max rpm instead of a cordless. The first sanding rounds, I was cautious, using it under-powered, not wanting the friction to make the repair a fail, but by the last polish pass, I was (cautiously) at full rpm. In the end, all the crescent-shaped scratches from the first sanding (that made me worry that I wasn’t doing it right) had vanished through fine sanding and polishing. This product gets five stars from me, give it a go!

I like the drill attachment. My 03 Saturn’s headlights were pretty yellow so I tried this. It’s my first time doing a kit of this kind. I followed instructions and although it’s not perfect/ brand new-looking, it’s considerably better than it was.

Bought for two cars, a 2007 and 2001, and supplies easily did two.
Did my car first, 2007. Following directions exactly, surface clarity and brilliance was fully restored. However, I made a few scratches with the 800 grit, possibly I wasn’t meticulous in handling the sandpaper and introduced grit.
Second car, 2001, the Mr’s, who’s headlights were far murkier/cloudy than mine. Skipped the 800 grit but used the 1500, 2000 and rubbing compound and his too were restored to clear and brilliant.
Other notes:
– supplies needed are painter’s tape, toweling and spray/squirt water bottle (use liberally).
– use two hands holding the drill, if using one. Whirling drill jumped easily, hit the car paint, and did mar it.

Was really skeptical, because of paying 20 bucks for this and hearing alot of people saying they never work, but this resorted my lights to basically brand new. it was very simple, all you need is water and a good drill and your set.

Followed the instructions and got great results. Restored 2 headlights with one kit on a 2008 RAV4 we just purchased. Kept the pads and surface thoroughly wet during sanding steps. Definitely cover paint near lens with painters tape (as instructed) to get entire lens without worrying about paint damage. There is a sanding compound on the 800 & 1500 grit pads which splatters (alot!), wear work clothes. Cleans up with water and no scratches if it gets on paint.
I went over each lens multiple times at each step to ensure even sanding and polishing. Car detail shop quoted $35 per headlight, so this cost $10 per headlight and about 1hr with similar results.

Best $20 I’ve ever spent on my vehicle. I was able to do both lens covers, which were pretty bad. I had no idea how bad off they were until I polished them. There is no way to polish the lenses of your headlights to this level without a drill. This was super easy & took me about 20 minutes total. I probably could have done my friend’s car too had he brought it by. There was plenty of polishing liquid left for another job.

Followed the directions and this kit worked extremely well. My lights were pretty far gone, but this brought them back fantastically. Took about 20 min to do both lights. Kit includes everything you need, but the drill. The ones giving this kit bad reviews were clearly rushing through or doing something wrong. See my before / after photos.

Worked really well to clean off the grit on the headlights
