This product weighs over four pounds which is higher than any other hand jack I have looked at. It is rated for 330 pounds which again is the same or higher than other brands. I do handy man type jobs. This robust hand jack is ideal for many different types of work such as lifting appliances and furniture. My first job with this hand jack was to jack up a shelf in my shed which was sagging due to poor design. I was able to jack up the shelf and insert a support leg. This hand jack is strong enough that I did not need to even clean the shelf’s to reduce the weight. I did clean off the shelf’s to clean up the look for a photograph. I have arthritic hands and did find the lever for releasing the jack a little small. There is a QR code on the hand jack for maintenance instructions which did not work. I can not think of any maintenance that would need to be done other than keeping it clean.

Pros: well balanced, raises quickly and easily, rated at 330lb. capacity, sturdy overall
Cons: only lifts approx. 10 inches high, lifting base and tongue could be longer and wider – it is only 2” by 2.25”
This jack might be helpful in adjusting a door or an average sized window. It may lift the corner of a 2×4 frame quite well. Something where the object lifted doesn’t exceed a 2” tongue. However, I was tasked with hanging a utility cabinet on a wall last week. Figured I would give it a try for that. The cabinet is 30” Length x 12” Width x 30” High and weighs about 40 pounds. Just big enough where I could have used a second set of hands. It was to be hung 12” above a workbench. For my task, it simply did not work. The cabinet kept slipping off the jack. And, I needed at least 12” clearance underneath. The jack didn’t meet the height required, while the tongue was simply too short. I ended up sitting the cabinet on a milk crate, leveling it out and securing it to the wall.
This is a good idea, but functionality may be limited to specific tasks in the current configuration.

I have spent most of my life doing remodeling and a lot of home repairs projects. This is actually the first time I have ever utilized a lifting tool. It definitely came in handy as being older I can’t always hold things in place like I used to. The Quick Lift from Irwin is built very sturdily and the squeeze handle is very comfortable. It made easy work on a couple of small projects I had to do. It worked very well to aid me in holding a sheet of drywall off the floor enough for me to place all my screws. Worked flawlessly. On another repair project I had to level out a door and frame, and this made life almost to easy as I used it to lift up whole unit while I was able to anchor it in the correct position. I have a large drywall project coming up in 2 weeks and I am really looking forward to using this more at that time. Another in a long list of quality, well made and well functioning tools from Irwin.

My washing machine broke, and it weighs over 200 pounds. I used this jack as my lifting load was within the rated capacity. I was able to lift my washing machine enough to get heavy-duty tri-dolly wheels under each corner, one side at a time. Then I could roll the washing machine out and get to the rear panel to service it. The jack also allows lever-action lowering, which I used to remove the tri-dolly wheels from my machine when done.
It’s a great tool that allowed me to get a job done, and finally I have an easier way of lifting heavier things.
Remember to follow safety recommendations, and know the limits of your tools and yourself!

This is the type of tool you keep coming up with ways to use it. I mostly work in the hvac industry and use this tool to help level equipment. Weather its an outdoor unit or furnce this tool is capable of doing the heavy lifting so you can be hands free to shim or level the unit. It’s like having an extra set of hands to help lift and/or hold something up. It’s very easy to use, just by squeezing down on the handle it raises easily. I also like the quick release and ease of getting under and object. Really considering adding another one of these to the tool box as I can see the need for extra lifting help in certain situations. Really nice design. Well built, seems very durable like it will last for a long time. I will keep coming up with ways to use this tool in the future. Definitely recommend this, exceeded my expectation.

The Irwin Quick-Lift is a superb tool. It’s one of those things that you didn’t know that you needed, and wonder how you lived without it. While not a daily use item for most, it is certainly something that you want close by for whatever comes your way. The ten inches of lifting height is more than enough for most situations. The lifting capacity of 300 pounds is impressive too. The tool is very substantial in hand, and seems very well built. The controls are intuitive and easy to operate. There are some very thoughtful and subtle details incorporated into the design that I really appreciate, such as the countersunk screw holes are awesome! The ability to secure the tool to a work surface for added stability when installing things like large windows and doors is borderline brilliant, the corresponding screw holes to fasten your work to the tool are also a useful feature. The center alignment notch on the lifting plate is another helpful addition. I utilized the Quick-Lift for testing on a variety of objects around my house for testing. It proved particularly useful for lifting bedroom furniture to allow for sliders to be placed underneath, no straining required. It also impressed my 6 year old son as I showed him how I could lift our heavy RV battery with just a squeeze of the handle. I must say that this is one of those things that will only grow in usefulness as time goes along. The variety of tasks or projects that it can be used on are only limited by your imagination.

This is a tool I never knew I needed! I have been trying to level doors, tables, workbenches with pry-bars and wood. This is an amazing addition to my arsenal! The lift is really sturdy and very well made. It has holes to screw it to the floor, but I never needed them, it is very stable.
So far I have used it to level a workbench and a pool table. The pool table really taxed the tool, but it held up without fault.
Things I really like:
– Very well built and will really lift a heavy load
– Easy to lift, and lower (the incremental lowering is especially valuable for fine adjustment)
– Ergonomic in use
The one thing I wish it had that it does not is the provision to wrap a ratchet strap around the lift mechanism. When I was working with the lift I wished for someway to secure it to the object being lifted without having to resort to screws. I ended up jamming the strap between the lift handle and the incremental lowering lever, but it was kinda a pain. If the lift had some provision for a ratchet strap it would be perfect.

This unique product is so handy around the house. We had to rebuild a wall due to rot, with few hands to help having an adjustable tool to apply lift and tension as large boards are attached was a game changer. In addition to making the process go faster. I was able to make the wife happier because I didn’t have to involve her and did a better job.
Another project that this little “jack of joy” helped with was rotating the tires on my 1/2 ton truck. Tires are heavy and getting them lined up to put the lug nuts on is always a pain (again – not really a one person job for someone over 60). I was getting to the point of hiring out this task. With this jack, I might have a few more years on me.

The Irwin Quick-Lift jack is amazing. I took my shop door off just to see if this would make it easier to put it back on, and it did. Ill admit, having a 2nd one would have made it easier but a person could ( and i should have) screwed it down to a board for more overall stability and it would have made the job even easier. But it still worked great.
To test out the 330lb weight capacity, I put it under the edge of my 95% full deep freezer and it lifted it like it was nothing. I have some cabinets i need to build this summer and I will definitely put this to good use. I have 2 boys that LOVE to help but being the ages of 6 and 3 , theyre limited to what they can do yet. But, my 6 year old was at least able to use this jack enough to “help”.
The jack is solid and like all the Irwin tools i own, it is made to last.

The Irwin quick-lift is an awesome tool for anybody’s arsenal. This thing is totally worth having! It has helped me lift dust about anything without the worry of pinching my fingers, giving me the third hand that you commonly need to get the job done. Easy one hand operation, easy to release and lower once the job is complete. I have tested this with setting windows, doors, helping me level washers by holding the washer level while being able to lower the leveling foot. I have tried other brands from china ordered from the internet and none of them had been anywhere need the quality and dependability of the Irwin quick-lift! Lift upto 330 lbs and I have tested it to that weight and it did a fantastic job. When you need an extra hand, make sure that you have this in your toolbox to get the job done faster, safer, and professionally. Thanks Irwin for thinking of everything with this awesome tool!

The first thing I noticed about the Irwin Quick-Lift Construction Jack is how sturdy it is. As you handle the item you can tell it is durable and will be able to withstand a great deal of weight being put upon it. It is rated to hold 330lbs, and it is built to a standard where that is certainly a believable claim. It has a very wide base to give it extra stability when you are lifting things, and the edges of the base and lifting scoop are tapered to make it easier to slide under items that are sitting directly on the floor. I primarily use an item like this for lifting up the front of an appliance so I can adjust the legs on the bottom to have the appliance sit level on the ground. I was surprised how little effort it took while pulling on the handle to have the item lift up. The amount of pull required was considerably less than what would be required when using something like a caulking gun, which would use a similar squeeze activation method, so this jack has obviously been designed to minimize the effort required to lift items off of the ground. It reaches a maximum height of 10″ which is sufficient for almost any need where an item like this is required. There is a smaller trigger in front of the main lifting handle that is used for “Fine Tune Lowering” of the jack, and that smaller trigger allows you to incrementally lower the jack down. It lowers at a rate of about 1/4′ for every pull of the trigger. That is slower than the rate at which the jack rises, but you want to slowly lower things down to avoid damage to your appliances and potential injury to yourself. There are also quick release knobs on the side for quickly putting the jack into a nesting position where the scoop nests flush within the base. Overall this item it very useful to have because it acts as an extra set of hands to securely hold things out of the way so you can safely work on them.

This Quick-Lift Construction Jack is an extremely helpful tool and acts as a convenient extra pair of hands when you need them most. Lifting, holding, leveling, spreading evenly, this quick-lift jack does it all. It is made very well with durable high quality materials and it is easy to operate. In my opinion this tool is a must have and super versatile, it truly is like another pair of hands to help me out. I recommend getting two of them. These are perfect for DIY projects at home and for the job site. When I’m working with metal and installing heavy metal gates, these quick-lift jacks help me to get them raised evenly and level to work on them with ease. It’s a much better option than using a 2×2 and some shims underneath the materials and having to rely on another person to help me lift them up to install on the hinges. Overall, great product and easy to operate, I especially love the precision controlled lowering option to get heavy things into just the right spot needed. Highly recommend this one!

I was excited to actually try out this product, As it looked like a great idea. The tool itself looks and feels rugged, has a nice base so it stands freely and also has holes so you can mount to something if needed for stability. I install a lot of heavy door 3 x 7 and 3 x 8 solid doors. I have used many methods to lift door for installation and always worry about damaging the bottom edges.
I was able to sit this tool on the floor with my helper holding the door in position while I squeezed the handle and lifted the door to the proper height. The lift has a very good feel to it. raising my very heavy door without any problem and without any damages to my door. The tool did not slip at all.
I love this new tool. I am sure I will think of many more things that could be lifted into position, but I think for doors this is an awesome tool.
This tool will stay in my truck and will be a must have in my collection. no more crow bars and flat bars under my doors. Great product. I recommend you try this tool.

This is a very handy jack for projects where two hands just aren’t quite enough. I’ve used it for hanging and taking down doors and it works great. I was able steady the door on the jack with one hand and dial in the height with the other. The quick lift jack offers smooth control for lifting and lowering which helps out a lot. Once the height was right, it was as easy as screwing in the door while the jack did all the hard work for me. I’ve also used it to level various appliances ranging from washing machines to upright freezers. My only complaint is that the footprint of the jack is a little small for getting underneath certain appliances. This jack also comes in handy for spreading studs and taking the crown out of lumber before it’s attached. The lifting plate and the foot also have holes in them which makes it possible to mount the jack to surfaces or secure the object you’re lifting to the jack. All in all this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Absolutely thrilled with the IRWIN Quick-Lift Construction Jack I bought from ! This tool is an absolute game-changer. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was built to last with high-quality materials and robust construction. Using it for the first time, I was amazed at how effortlessly it lifted heavy loads, saving me significant time and energy on my project.
The Quick-Lift mechanism is nothing short of genius. It operates smoothly and efficiently, making adjustments easy and precise. Whether you’re working on framing, leveling floors, or installing beams, this jack is incredibly versatile and reliable. The stability and security it provides are second to none, giving me complete confidence in my work.
Kudos to for stocking such a fantastic product. The IRWIN Quick-Lift Construction Jack has quickly become an essential part of my toolkit, and I can’t imagine tackling projects without it. If you’re in the market for a top-notch construction jack, look no further – this one is a total winner!

First Impressions:
When I first unboxed this tool I quickly noticed several well thought out features which makes this tool one that will surely be used often in the workshop and in the home. The first thing I noticed is that the tool is svelte. From it’s beefy base to the lifting claw which is attached to what appears to be a very well made chassis where the internals are safely kept free of debris and unintentional impact. The next thing I noticed is how beefy the vertical rail is. You can tell this tool is built to handle heavy loads. No flex or give than any of the parts.
Considerate Features:
I really like the larger overmolded trigger which allows you to securely plant your fingers while using the lift. I also enjoy the fact that the rear grip fits between the webbing of your hand and is more on the slick side. This allows more free pivoting of my hand and I can honestly tell that this will alleviate stress on the wrist with continuous use. The ability to drop the lifting claw down in smaller increments is a big plus as this allows me to fine tune where the bottom edge of a door or cabinet will land while I’m mounting them. The non-load-bearing quick release allows me to quickly drop the lifting claw and place the entire assembly on a shelf. It may not seem like a big deal to some folks, but having the center of mass as low as possible allows for a more stable way of storing the tool and keeping it from toppling over should someone bump it in the shop.
Practical Use:
My wife can lift the corners of our couch by herself to adjust feet that often swivel in the wrong direction over time. I am able to lift the corners of my heavy workbench and attach casters without having to involve a second person or worry about rolling the entire table on its side. I’m also able to lift the corners of my extremely heavy 25 in router to attach 4×4 runners.
Possible Uses:
I like the fact that this unit can also be used as a spreader and I’m going to talk about that briefly. I noticed the base has countersunk holes that allow me to attach it to a larger piece of wood for a more stable base should it be needed (E.g., uneven ground). The lifting claw itself also has countersunk holes underneath which allow the attachment of a horizontal member which will greatly increase the amount of contact between the quick lift’s lifting claw and the edge of something longer such as a workbench. While a sturdier temporary base and lifting member may not be needed it certainly nice to know that I can add them thanks to the countersunk holes. I also appreciate the beveled edge of the two front feet and lifting claw and how quickly this tool lifts objects with ease.
Future Plans:
I imagine that the PIN that restricts this unit from lifting items higher than 10 in could be removed and the direction of the grip could be reversed to turn this item into a standard style wood clamp for using with things such as glue ups. I do not plan to use it in this manner, but I do see loads of potential for this tool to become a heavier gauge wire stripper (feeding cable thru a razor jig and allowing the wire to pass thru one of the feet holes and loop thru the underside of the lifting claw and back over to the adjacent hole from the top).
Overall Impression:
The Irwin Quick Lift has loads of features, is built like a tank, and gives nearly anyone the ability to easily and quickly lift heavy objects without risking injury to their back or joints. I love this tool from Irwin.

I received these Quick-Lift Jacks a month or so ago. Been able to use them a couple times. WOW! What a well thought out piece of engineering. I have 3 similar jacks and they are junk compared to these. A vital piece of equipment in my tool box now, especially being older in age.and can’t lift like in my younger.days. Thank you for building an awesome jack.

The Irwin Quick Lift has turned out to be an awesome tool. I was actually pretty surprised during my initial unboxing. This thing is stout! Forget about the small quick grip clamps this lift means business.
The main steel shank that guides the mechanism is very robust. Oversized grips and steel material supports give this lift a tank like quality. This really does feel like a quality and heavy duty tool. The heft of the unit does not detract from the actual workings though. Squeezing the main handle to go up is very smooth even with a load. It goes up evenly with the stroke of the handle so you don’t get stuck in uneven increments. I love that this lift also has a lower trigger as well. This is such a useful feature for getting the height you need absolutely perfect.
Another well thought out component of the Quick Lift is the main foot and “shelf” for the object you’re lifting. Irwin smartly added holes in each so you can secure the foot to the floor, larger piece of wood for load spread or whatever you need to in order to make it as stable as possible. With the addition of the holes in the ledge that goes up you can secure various lengths of wood to really maximize the height of this unit.
The 300 pound rating of this lift is fantastic. Strong enough to set a whole unit of cabinets and still maintain its finesse through its ascent.
While certainly a somewhat of a niche tool being a metal fabricator by trade I’ve found this lift to be an excellent third hand for holding parts of projects up where I would normally have stacks of blocks to get things to the right height. I’ve also used this as a spreader tool which works way better than I could have hoped for. I need a second one now as I feel like a having a pair can really place this thing as an everyday tool.

This is an amazing tool if you work in construction or work on your home. This is not a car lift. The load barring is up to 330lbs which is a perfect amount for most construction needs. My husband and I own a Construction Company and we also do DYI around our home. This is a perfect lift for doors, windows, and floors just for examples. The lift holds well and does not wiggle once in place. We have used this for putting in appliances in our home and it worked well and we are very impressed. We used the lift to install our stove. The stove held up well and made installing easier. This lift is up to 10 inches just enough to get your project going. The base makes it so easy to use and helps keep the lift in place. The handle feels good in the hands. This is a great lift and I highly recommend it.

I used this thing everywhere! You can tell this thing is up to any task just by visually inspecting the structural design and hardware used. I work in HVAC and have an excessive amount of small jobs around the house. I’ve used similar products but this one is a TANK with no brakes. I’ve used this to set interior doors, lift my mower deck to change out my blades, break down some pallets so I can use for a future project, you name it! I recently took this thing to work with me doing some commercial/industrial HVAC/R. I found myself using it to separate belt driven pulleys to tension the belts tighter. Needless to say, I even got clever and fastened it to my make shift, gantry crane style saw horse setup for setting condenser fan motors. I secured it upside down and anchored it through the provided hole penetrations, to my sawhorse apparatus. I fastened my condenser motor shaft tethered to the lower support (upside down it would be the upper) IRWIN has also provide holes on that too. This set up allows me to lift and/or lower the motor to the correct depth with precision given the handle grip and finger trigger design for lifting/lowering. There is also a quick release/slide lever that is located on both sides of the tool for ease of access in case your left or right handed. All in all, there isn’t much this thing can’t be used for. I’ll post my setup next time I use it on the job. Great product, I definitely recommend this to anyone who has any project big or small!

This thing is amazing due to its clearance and compactness. It can be hard to squeeze at higher weights. I lifted the corners of a 222 lb refrigerator with about 100 bottles of wine, around 500 lbs. I don’t know if I could lift more. But I can cross that bridge when I come to it.

Look and Feel
This is a very well built tool. It has a nice feel. The curve of the pistol grip handle fits your hand nicely. The main lifting trigger has a slightly softer rubber feel and is big enough to allow you to get all 4 fingers on it which makes it easy to get a good grip. The lowering trigger is conveniently located yet far enough from the main trigger as to not be in the way. The trigger pull has the feel of a caulking gun and operates easier. It has a very stable, sturdy feel overall.
Operation
It has a very smooth operation and can be controlled easily. Squeeze a small amount for a small raise or squeeze the full stroke for a larger raise. It stays put when the trigger is released. The lowering trigger has the same smooth operation, but a much slower rate of travel allowing for precise lowering. It has a 330 pound capacity with a 10 inch lifting height. The quick release lever is a nice feature that allows for no load adjustment and saves time.
Materials
The base foot, bar, and the lifting leg are all made from steel, roughly 1/4 inch thick. The base foot and the lifting leg have countersunk holes making it easy to screw the jack down to a work bench. The jacking component is made from a sturdy plastic frame, with metal plates on the sides, held on by metal screws, covering the internal parts. The lowering trigger and the quick release are both made from metal.
Uses
A few examples of items that can be precisely raised, lowered or supported and leveled include:
• Cabinets
• Doors
• Windows
• Office cubicles
• Furniture
• File cabinets
• Desks
• Work benches
• Wall panels
• Appliances
A single IRWIN QUICK-LIFT can be used to easily lift one side of a heavy desk, sofa or even a fully loaded refrigerator high enough to get a dolly under it. If you can get 1/4 inch of clearance under an object, you can get this jack under it and lift up to 330 lbs. Two or more IRWIN QUICK-LIFTs, used together, would make it possible to keep items level while lifting. Also the capacity will increase so two IRWIN QUICK-LIFTs would have a 660lb lifting capacity, and four IRWIN QUICK-LIFTs would have a 1320 lbs lifting capacity. Wow!
The IRWIN QUICK-LIFT can also be used as a spreader to push items apart such as for aligning or straightening deck lumber.
Conclusion
The IRWIN QUICK-LIFT is a well built, well designed, high quality tool, with precise material handling capabilities.

The Irwin Quick-Lift Construction Jack comes in heavy duty packaging which 100% fits with its heavy duty nature. The jack is heavy, but it is no so heavy that it becomes unwieldy. It’s heavy in a way that comes off as “means business.” It could be used for commercial construction or “off label” uses which is what I found myself using it for. In looking for a cat toy, and deciding to vacuum under a couch while it was lifted by the Jack, my loveseat posed NO challenge for the Irwin Quick-Lift. I never found the cat toy, but I was able to get some quick cleaning done.
One of my favorite things about this jack is the precision in the raising/lowering system. I can tell that this would be extremely valuable when trying to make minute adjustments to get something level. You needn’t give the handle a full squeeze to raise the jack. The same holds true for the lowering trigger.
This product is right in line with the quality expected from an Irwin tool given what I’ve previously experienced with their variety of duty clamps (Light > Medium > Heavy).

I have used Irwin tools for many years, especially their claps and vise grips, and have always been pleased with them and so they are my go-to when the need arises. The Irwin Quick-Lift opens up a myriad of possible uses. It functions as comfortably and intuitively as Irwin’s hand clamps with a grip squeeze lift (easily reducing the perceived weight of the lift) and a trigger-squeeze lowering. I used it to lift my misaligned front door so that I could re-adjust the hinges. Try the same task with wedges could damage the finish on my marble floor (and land me in the dog house). The same action can be used as a spreader to separate connections. If rapid release is required there is a thumb activated lever which operates while the release trigger is squeezed. All the controls are ambidextrously accessible. For semi-permanent use and for safety purposes when heavy loads are lifted there are counter-sunk screw mounting holes in the base plate and in the underside of the lifting arm. All the components are heavy duty and the fit and finish and quality of materials are top notch. This is an excellent tool and Iriwn always offers a great value product.

I received the IRWIN QUICK-LIFT Construction Jack and used it the next day! Used the jack with assisting to level and raise a new playhouse door into place to attach the hinges. Also utilized the jack with a little creativity (secured the jack base to wood risers) to lift, place and secure newly constructed shed doors with hinges already attached to the door. Worked like a charm to balance, adjust and place these doors while installing the doors by myself. Following that, I used the jack to support and level a double bowl kitchen sink while adhering and securing the sink to a granite top from underneath. I had recently done a similar project whereby I had to maneuver the sink and physically lift, place and balance the bowl in place with my arms and shoulder(s) while working with tools to secure sink in place. That was not fun to do alone and took a lot of time. With this jack it was much easier, faster and less strenuous on my body! This jack is a superb tool to assist when working alone on projects like these! I wish I had two. This will be an extremely useful tool for projects where appliances need top be lifted or any item for that manner, Many ideas/applications are in my head for using this tough tool. Can’t wait to try it on decking to straighten boards and secure in place.

Let me say this first! I was pleasantly surprised to see the size of this IRWIN QUICK-LIFT when I opened the packaging box! Wow! Much larger than what I was expecting and the robust design!
This discuss the features: The lever squeeze handle is comfortable with a nice smooth finish that operates effortlessly. Love the fine-tune lowering trigger that truly comes in handy lowering heavy objects. The no load release lever can easily and quickly adjust the lift height without solely relying on the manual squeeze handle. I was able to complete this task with one hand on some of my projects. The counter sink holes are a nice added design when you are able to mount it to wood surfaces without the screw head being exposed.
I decided to add a little pizazz into the uses of this neat tool during my sampling process, instead of the same old common construction applications. Using the QUICK-LIFT made cleaning under our living room couch a real back saver! It made replacing the felt under the dining room table legs super simple. It was very handy to temporarily hold a door in place while removing a hinge pin and apply oil. I see a lot of advantages of using (2) QUICK-LIFTS versus only using one.
A few suggestions: Might consider using more zip ties to secure the QUICK-LIFT to the store package. After opening the shipping box, I quickly observed all (3) of the zip ties were severed. Incorporate a removable rubber sleeve or suction cups to attach to the bottom base to prevent base from shifting or sliding on smooth surfaces. These could possibly be an added accessory. This would come in handy during applications where you don’t have the option to use the countersink holes for mounting.
In closing, using (1) QUICK-LIFT can be a very helpful tool working alone. Although, I truly believe packaging them in a pairs will achieve a sustainable competitive advantage over the other competitors! I rated this tool a 5 because of its beefy design, effortlessly to operate, looks are appealing and the number of ways to use this tool…sky is the limit!

When I received this product, I tried to return it. I couldn’t see a reason for keeping.
It is an average tool for door and window installs, as there are better products. Yes, it does work for that. And if you have limited room for tools in your truck, this one tool can replace multiple other options if need be.
But when you need to FORCE something into place and keep there while the adhesive sets, Humm. Now I found a use that nothing else on my van can do.
For example when gluing PVC pipe and you’re having trouble with hydraulic push back; you might be able to use it to push against a framing member to push the pipe into the socket and walk away while the cement sets and cures.
It is also be used to hold panelboard tubs while you secured the tub to the framing.

I found this to be amazingly useful and wishing I had it sooner. I used so far for a simple project on the shop making a wooden keepsake box. Once I had the components ready it was time to put the hinges on and attach the lid to the base. I was scrambling to find wood to perfectly raise the lid to the level of the base while I was marking and attaching the hinges. I realized there was this perfect new addition to my shop and it was this, I was so pumped that there was a tool that couldn’t haven’t been more perfect for the job. You’ll see in the pictures how exactly it looked but it truly was one of those situations where the tool was perfect for the job. The trigger allowed me to fine tune the exact height I wanted the lid to be which is so important with fine woodworking like this.
I plan to use it again when building more shop benches/storage/worktops in my shop. I think it will especially be convenient when installing shelves and supports, allowing me to hold the shelves on one end at the desired height while securing the other end. Often times with one person it is impossible to hold the shelf while securing it into place at the correct height you want. Usually it results in the shelf height shifting from where you wanted it originally because you need to try and hold it. It might be rather nice if I had two for this job coming up to hold both sides of the shelf.
