Being a professional mechanic for more than 35 years, I was a little sceptical of this strut compressor. My skepticism was put to rest, once I received and used this device. This strut compressor is amazingly easy to use, and strut set up is easier than the much more expensive shop version. It took me a few minutes to get the spacing on the compression jaws set up right, but then it was super simple. I do recommend looping the safety chain twice through the coil spring, as this will reduce slack in the chain, and hold the spring more secure if you do have a slip. I doubt you will have a slip, as the design locks the strut firmly in place. This device also has a very small footprint, making it easy to store. I highly recommend this strut compressor, as it is easier to use than the shop version, and cost about $700 less.
